Wight Shipyard Co (WSC) had the pleasure of attending the naming ceremony for its first multi-million-pound river passenger ferry export. The 250-passenger ferry, which was delivered to Austria's Twin City Liner (TCL) in January, was named at a ceremony in Vienna attended by WSC CEO Peter Morton and Dr Gerd Krämer, managing director of TCL. Also attending the prestigious ceremony were HM Ambassador Leigh Turner, Bronwen Moore, Head of DIT Austria and Miles Fisher, Senior Trade Attache.

The new vessel is a low wash round bilge catamaran designed by Incat Crowther. It was built to cater for projected traffic growth, achieve much better operating economies of scale and greatly reduce TCL’s environmental footprint along the River Danube.

The ferry is the WSC’s sixth build in two years and features the very latest in cutting edge design.
